Consultation Fees
Current fees are set lower than the recommended rate by the Australian Psychological Society.
- Consultation Fee (2025/26): $255* (to be paid in full at the start of the session)
- Medicare Rebate: $145.25 (if referred by a GP under a Mental Health Care Plan this is what Medicare will give you back)
- Cost to Client: $109.75 (Gap after receiving the Medicare rebate back)
Standard consultation sessions are 50-55 mins in length.
- Third Party Billing Rate: $330 +GST* (where a third party is billed directly instead of the client themselves)
- Standard fees for services billed to third parties (e.g., insurers, employers, or other organisations) are set in line with the Australian Psychological Society recommended fee schedule.
- Fees quoted directly to private clients reflect a significantly reduced rate. This adjustment is applied consistently across all self-funded clients to support accessibility of services.
- Please note that higher fees apply to third-party arrangements due to the additional administrative, reporting, and liaison requirements involved.
*All fees are increased incrementally at the start of each financial year (1st July).
EFTPOS
EFTPOS Facilities are available (including Visa and MasterCard) on site.
Merchant (surcharge) fees apply.
Medicare Claiming
For your convenience Roy can submit your Medicare rebate claim for you at the time of payment. Your rebate, once processed by Medicare, will appear in your nominated bank account usually the next day – often on the same day.
Private Health Cover
Roy is registered with all major private health insurance providers, so you will be able to claim through your private health if applicable. Speak to your health insurance provider regarding the rebate that you are eligible. Note that private health insurance rebates can only be claimed where Medicare rebates are not claimed.
Late Cancellation Fees
There are usually people on a waitlist wanting to access counselling. If you give enough notice when cancelling or changing appointments, those people may be able to access services sooner. You may yourself be one of those people hoping to use a cancelled appointment slot if the person that cancels provides enough notice for you to do so. Please bear this in mind when changing and cancelling appointments.
If, for some reason, you need to cancel or postpone the appointment, please give at least 24 hours notice.
Failure to give at least 24 hours notice to cancel or rearrange an appointment, or failure to attend, may result in you being charged a cancellation fee.
